Stinging Nettle Root
81% of men reported relief in a rigorous 558-person trial
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial found 81% of nettle root patients improved on lower urinary tract symptoms vs. 16% on placebo. International Prostate Symptom Score dropped significantly in the treatment group.
Urine flows better and the bladder empties more fully
Clinical studies show significant improvements in urinary flow rates and reductions in post-void residual urine volume in men with BPH.
The prostate itself may actually shrink
A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found that nettle root may decrease the physical size of the prostate gland, not just mask the symptoms.
Anti-inflammatory activity confirmed in lab studies
Nettle root extract and a polysaccharide fraction demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity in lab studies. How meaningfully this applies to human prostate inflammation is not well established.
May influence the testosterone-to-estrogen conversion
At least five components of nettle root showed low-to-moderate aromatase-inhibiting effects in lab studies, potentially restricting the conversion of androgens into estrogens. Not yet verified in human clinical trials.
Pumpkin Seed
6 in 10 men reported meaningful improvement
The GRANU study found a 58.5% response rate in the pumpkin seed group after 12 months, compared to 47.3% in the placebo group.
May reduce prostate tissue inflammation
Pumpkin seeds are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, known to have anti-inflammatory properties. Their role in hormonal regulation may help reduce inflammation linked to BPH, though direct human evidence specific to pumpkin seeds and prostate inflammation is limited.
Helps maintain the normal self-destruct cycle in prostate cells
Zinc supports apoptosis — the natural process by which abnormal prostate cells are cleared before they can multiply. This mechanism is well-understood biologically, though the extent to which dietary zinc from pumpkin seeds specifically drives this in humans is not precisely quantified.
Prostate shrank in testosterone-induced BPH rats
Pumpkin seed phytosterols administered to rats with experimentally induced BPH reduced prostate size, lowered 5-alpha reductase activity, and rebalanced cell growth and cell death. These results have not been replicated in human trials.
Urinary symptoms eased and quality of life improved
Men taking pumpkin seed oil in clinical studies experienced significant improvements in urinary function and quality of life compared to placebo groups. A 12-month study showed reductions in symptom burden beginning around the three-month mark.

How to Brew Your Daily Dose
1. Measure Your Water
8 oz hot water
Bring 8 ounces of water to a gentle boil, then let it cool slightly for a minute.
2. The 10-Minute Steep
10 minutes
Add 1 tsp to a mug. Pour the hot water over the herbs, cover, and let it steep for a full 10 minutes to completely extract the active nutrients.
3. Strain Your Brew
After steeping, it is time to remove the herbs from the infusion, if desired. Pour the warm liquid through a fine-mesh strainer.
4. Enjoy Your Way
Right away or all day
Repeat 3 times a day, or triple the dosage to consume your daily dose throughout the day.
